I'm Back (:

 Hi everyone! Long time no see.

Apologies for the long absence. I have been incredibly busy with school and life in general. I graduated high school and am now a college freshman 😁! However, I wanted to come back to my blog and give it some TLC.

In addition to my return, I want to expand my posts from being solely about books to topics that I hold near and dear to my heart. That includes opinion pieces, poetry, and whatever else I want to share.

I'm so glad to be back and I can't wait for what the future has in store!

  Over winter break, I had the pleasure to see Robert Eggers' most recent masterpiece Nosferatu . This gothic horror film is a remake of the 1922 silent German Expressionist film Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror . The sets and sound design were phenomenal. The acting? Chef's kiss. Lily-Rose Depp's performance was fantastic! A true standout amongst the star-studded cast. She perfectly captured the quiet resilience and inner darkness of Ellen Hutter brilliantly.  Bill Skarsgård completely immersed himself into Count Orlok.  Hello everyone!  Today is a little different from before! I will be giving my honest review for one of my favorite skincare brands, Nature's Touch. So buckle up and get ready for the ride. Nature's Touch is a wellness brand based in Dominica that is dedicated to providing natural health products to its customers. A childhood friend of my mother, founder Misana Harris has changed what wellness looks like in Dominica. She is a natural health care specialist and herbalist who founded Nature's Touch Body Therapy and Wellness Services in 2003. Working in natural healthcare has been a childhood aspiration for the entrepreneur.  Following the events of the 2024 US election, I need an outlet. Enjoy some of my poetry(?). I’m tired. Do you know why?  They tell me to be patient and kind. To smile in the face of those who hate my existence.  Black. Woman. The daughter of Caribbean immigrants. For too long, they have said, “when they go low, we go high”. Why? Just for them to spit in my eyes. To kick me while I’m down. I am bloodied and bruised. I’m tired. Tired of this godforsaken country. Built on the blood and bones of my kin. Whose lifeline was dependent on mine. My exhaustion. My anger. My time. My life.  Fuck America. Fuck white people. Fuck all of you. Fuck being nice. I wanna cry, but I’m afraid that once I do, I won’t stop. Not until I’m hollowed out. Not until somehow we can fix this.
