I have just finished Alechia Dow's debut novel,  The Sound of Stars .   After a misunderstanding between the leaders of Earth and the invading Ilori, one-third of Earth's population is killed. Two years later, 17 year old Ellie Baker is surviving in an Ilori-controlled center in New York City. Humans have been deemed dangerously volatile, therefore any forms of expression have been banned.  No books, no music, and no expression of emotions.  However, Ellie  breaks the rules by keeping a secret library.  Hi!  My name is Michaela.  I'm a freshman in high school.   I am an American, but my parents are from Trinidad and Dominica.  This is my first blog 😁.  I wanted to start a blog because I wanted to create a space where I can share my love of books.  I will be blogging reviews of books that I have read and recommending new ones.  Most, if not all, of these books will be in the YA genre (Young Adult).  If that does not interest you, I understand.  I will try to post every week, but life happens.  If I miss a day, I'll make sure to make it up!   I also encourage interaction in the comment section!  Don't be afraid to make a suggestion.  That way I'll be able to improve my blog and help make this a safe, respectful, and enjoyable space for everyone 😊.  I hope that this is the beginning of a successful and long-term blog.  Thank you!
